Choi's Korean Brings Asian Comfort Food To San Diego's East Village

Choi's Korean has unveiled in San Diego's East Village, bringing South Korean comfort food to the Petco Park-adjacent Park 12 complex.

Founded by 23-year-old former UC San Diego business major and native South Korean, Jiwoo Choi, Choi's Korean has opened within the $400 million Park 12 mixed-use community in San Diego's East Village. The concept joins Park 12's other tenants, including Holy Matcha, Orange County-based Mexican eatery Carmelita’s, local cafe company Achilles Coffee Roasters, Australian-based fitness training studio F45, and East Village Brewing Company.

Choi's Korean is located within a 4,321 square-foot space with a 1,000 square-foot al fresco patio sited right outside Petco Park. The menu features contemporary Korean cuisine like Korean fried chicken, galbi rice bowls, and charred Gochujang octopus. . From the bar, the restaurant has a dedication to Korean beer and rice wine cocktails, featuring soju and makgeolli, a milky Korean wine that has a sweet and bitter taste.
