After departing its longtime La Jolla space late last year, Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ has reopened in San Diego's North County.
Last October, Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ restaurant announced its closure after almost 15 years in business in San Diego's La Jolla. Founded on Prospect Street in La Jolla in 2009 by Jeffrey Nicoletta and Bruce Long, Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ long attracted customers for its menu of ribs, burgers, sandwiches and American barbecue fare. Due to lease issues, the restaurant was forced to close on Prospect Street.
Bubba's Smokehouse BBQ ownership has found a new home in the unit previously occupied by Sushi on the Rock within Rancho Bernardo Distribution Center. The restaurant will initially only open for take out and delivery via the online restaurant delivery apps. It may add onsite seating in the future depending on business.
