Four San Diego eateries have made this year's incarnation of Yelp’s list of the top 100 places to eat in the United States

Yelp has released its annual "Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S." rankings for 2024, and four San Diego County restaurants made the rankings. Coming in at #3, which is the highest ranked California restaurant, is Sunny Side Kitchen, an Escondido-based sandwich shop from husband-and-wife team Bob & Kate Carpenter.

The next San Diego eatery on the list is Crafted Greens in El Cajon, which came in at the number 16 spot. The fast casual organic restaurant serves an array of family meals, flatbreads, salads, soups, plates and sandwiches.

A San Diego favorite for its gourmet sliders and rotating specials, Rosemarie's Burgers in Mission Beach came in at #40 on Yelp's list. This is one of SanDiegoVille's favorite restaurant openings of 2023. Operated by chef and owner Nick Bálsamo, Rosemarie's combines global culinary styles and techniques to offer an ever-evolving list of jam-packed slider sandwiches.

Rounding out Yelp's San Diego honorees is longtime vegan bakery Peace Pies in Point Loma. Since 2009, this Bohemian cafe boasts a health-forward menu of locally sourced dishes made with raw, vegan, gluten-free and soy-free ingredients.

Yelp's top spot was awarded to Tumerico vegetarian restaurant in Tucson, AZ. In 2020, San Diego's Shawarma Guys took the top spot on Yelp's list. The Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food truck is currently in the process of opening its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in San Diego's La Mesa, which will open any day now.
