Popular Southern California donut destination Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee is no longer opening a new location at 2100 Kettner Boulevard in San Diego's Little Italy.
Last fall, news broke that a second San Diego location of Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee was set to open on the ground floor of the new 2100 Kettner mixed-use building in Little Italy. Unfortunately, that deal has fallen through and Sidebar is no longer opening on the base floor of the new 235,000 square-foot office and retail building. Other tenants signed on to open within 2100 Kettner include San Francisco-based pizzeria concept Slice House by Tony Gemignani, Arizona-based Postino WineCafé, and Body Fit Training Gym.
Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee was founded in Orange County's Costa Mesa in 2012 and immediately had hungry patrons lining up for a taste of the small-batch rotating donut menu with flavors like basil eggs benedict, Nutella chocolate chip, birthday cake and passion fruit matcha. A second location opened in Los Angeles' Santa Monica neighborhood in 2015. In late 2018, the company opened its first San Diego location within in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center.
