Sayulitas Mexican Food To Open New Location In San Diego's City Heights

April 19, 2024

A San Diego-based taqueria chain with Mexican and Filipino heritage, Sayulitas Mexican Food will soon open a new location in San Diego's City Heights community.

Sayulitas Mexican Food was founded in 2015 by owner Rosalinda Flores, and the Mexican-Filipino fusion taqueria now has locations in Mira Mesa, 43rd Street in South Crest, Picador Boulevard in Otay Mesa, San Marcos, Santee, and Las Vegas. The company also once had a branch in Escondido, but that location closed in early 2022.

A new Sayulitas restaurant will soon open in the space that last housed Cali Fresh Mexican Grill on University Avenue in City Heights. Like other branches, the eclectic menu will feature tacos, enormous burritos, tortas, chimichanga, enchiladas, quesadillas, tostadas, smothered fries, soups and entrees. Highlights include a Lumpia-filled burrito, the surf & turf fries, and the Spamsilog burrito with eggs, Spam, rice, cheese and sour cream.

Sayulitas Mexican Food is anticipated to open this May at 4126 University Avenue in San Diego's City Heights. For more information, visit sayulitaseats.com.
