Brick & Bell Cafe Opening New Location In Heart Of San Diego's La Jolla Village

April 18, 2024

Brick & Bell Cafe is opening a brand new location in the heart of San Diego's La Jolla Village community.

Peter Schumacher opened the original Brick & Bell Cafe in a 100-year old brick building in the heart of La Jolla Village in 2003 and unveiled his second location in La Jolla Shores in 2015. In summer 2017, Schumacher took over the more than 20-year-old Cafe 976 space, and after closing it for a brief remodel, opened his third outpost in the charming standalone 1920s building on the corner of Cass & Felspar in Pacific Beach. After a three year run, the Pacific Beach location of Brick & Bell Cafe permanently closed in September 2020 due to the pandemic.

A new outpost dubbed Brick & Bell Plus will open later this year in the space that last housed Verde Marketplace within the Merrill Lynch Building on Fay Avenue in La Jolla Village. Like other locations, the new cafe will serve a menu of house-roasted coffee, croissants, cookies, cinnamon rolls, breakfast bowls, bagels, scrambled eggs, sandwiches, smoothies, protein shakes, and an array of the company's popular scones, which they are known to sell up to 1,000 per day and more than 100,000 every year.

Brick & Bell Cafe is expected to open at some point this summer at 7825 Fay Avenue in San Diego's La Jolla Village. For more information, follow Brick & Bell Cafe on Facebook.
