Cherryfish Japanese Fusion Coming To Former Isabel's Cantina Space In San Diego's Pacific Beach

July 27, 2024

Cherryfish restaurant will soon bring sushi and Japanese fusion cuisine to the building that last housed Swagyu/Isabel's Cantina in San Diego's Pacific Beach.

Cherryfish is a new dining project from Dannielle & Carlos Becerra, who also manage Palmy’s next door and Parq nightclub in downtown San Diego, as well as partner Zachary Cohen. Carlos once made headlines for employing a pair of consultants to help him open Parq, two men who were later federally charged with steering foreign money into San Diego political campaigns. The resulting investigation uncovered Becerra's wild and controversial past, but he has seemingly overcome allegations and is now chair of the Gaslamp Quarter Association
Cherryfish will offer Japanese fusion cuisine and fresh sushi, as well as beer, wine and sake, sited just a short stroll from the Pacific Ocean. The revamped space, which formerly housed the short lived Swagyu and is more notably the longtime home of Isabel's Cantina, will include a 2,800-square-foot indoor dining area, a 1,000-square-foot outdoor patio, and an exclusive private dining room adjacent to the kitchen, accommodating up to 12 guests who can enter through a dedicated VIP entrance. The restaurant will also have front patio featuring several fire pits designed for communal interaction.

Cherryfish bar and restaurant is expected to open this September at 966 Felspar Street in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, follow Cherryfish on Instagram
