A downtown San Diego nightclub hosted a hall of fame-worthy bash as former NFL-star Reggie Bush hosted a celebration around the return of his Heisman trophy.
San Diego sports legend, two-time BCS National Championship winner, Super Bowl champion and Heisman Trophy winner, Reggie Bush partied into the night at Oxford Social Club in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter to celebrate the return of his Heisman trophy. Bush was returned the prestigious award this past spring after it was stripped from him more than a decade ago.
Bush had the top college football award vacated in 2010 after his alma mater USC was hit with massive NCAA sanctions when it was found that Bush and his family received impermissible benefits during his time with the Trojans. College football players are now allowed to profit from their work in many ways, so the Heisman Trust decided earlier this year it was time to move past the conflict with one of the most exciting players in the sport's history.
Bush started his celebratory evening in Downtown San Diego with a cozy private dinner at Lionfish Modern Coastal Cuisine before making his way next door to Oxford where he was greeted by a throng of fans who lined the sidewalk shouting well wishes as the NFL All-Pro spoke to the media and posed with his newly returned Heisman Trophy. Stylishly dressed in an army green short sleeve button down paired with camo pants and green sneakers, the San Diego native, who rose to football stardom at nearby Helix High School, stopped to say hello and snap photos with a number of excited fans before heading into the nightclub to the party.
The Heisman Trust has returned the trophy to Bush and the replica to USC. Bush also will be invited to all future Heisman Trophy ceremonies.
