Former Woodstock's Pizza Executive Takes Over San Diego-Based Culture Brewing Company

August 9, 2024

San Diego's 11-year-old Culture Brewing Company has been purchased by a former executive of Woodstock's Pizza.

Founded by owners John Niedernhofer, Steve Ragan and Dennis Williams, Culture Brewing Company first opened its flagship brewery and on-site tasting room in Solana Beach in February 2013. In November 2014, the craft brewing company debuted a tasting room in San Diego's Ocean Beach, but that location shuttered in March 2020 and is now occupied by Nova Easy Kombucha. Culture Brewing also has a tasting room at 629 South Coast Highway in Encinitas that opened in 2017 and another 2,300 square-foot facility at 327 Manhattan Beach Boulevard in Los Angeles County's Manhattan Beach, which opened in early 2021.

Public records show that all of Culture Brewing Company's branches have been taken over by a new ownership group that includes husband-and wife - previous Woodstock's Pizza COO Anthony Dellamano and former investment advisor Jenna Wolfe Dellamano. New owners don't have plans to make many changes, rather they hope to build upon the success of the company at its already established locations. They do hope to add a food aspect to some or all of the locations in the near future.

"My wife and I moved our family here about five years ago and have always been drawn to Culture Brewing," explained Anthony Dellamano. "It is a central community meeting place for everyone in Solana Beach and we're very excited about that. Personally, I've been in the restaurant business my entire career, so I'm excited to bring a new food component to Culture Brewing in the near future. We hope to grow it either by more tasting rooms or brew pubs but still keep it small and intimate to our local communities. We brew fantastic beers and have a super cool vibe so we just want to keep doing that."
