South Korea's most popular fried chicken chain, BHC Chicken will soon open its second San Diego location.
First established in South Korea in 1997, BHC Chicken now has more than 1,500 branches around Asia with its first U.S. location opened in 2023 at The Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles. Earlier this year, the company took over the space last occupied by The Greenspot Salad Company within The Mercato Food Hall in Sorrento Valley to open its first San Diego branch.
BHC Chicken has now moved into the former Subway unit within The Plaza at Rancho Bernardo for their second area outpost. Like other locations, BHC Chicken Rancho Bernardo will serve a menu centered around flavorful fried chicken paired with classic, interesting, and popular Korean sauces including Korean cheese seasoning. There will also be a selection of side dishes such as fried rice, tteokbokki, rabokki, chicken sandwiches and cheese sticks, as well as beer and wine.
There is another BHC location being planned for Carlsbad, although franchise owner John Baik has not revealed an exact location. Based on the success of these first outposts, more branches may open around San Diego County.
BHC Chicken is expected to open by year's end at 11983 Bernando Plaza Drive in San Diego's North County community of Rancho Bernardo. For more information, visit bhcchickenusa.com.
