The owner of a newly opened downtown San Diego bar and restaurant has been criminally charged after allegedly attacking an employee.
Carmen Lindinger, who recently launched the zen-inspired Asian fusion restaurant and bar Enlitenment in the Gaslamp Quarter at 827 Fifth Avenue, is facing charges just weeks after the restaurant's debut this past July. The charges stem from an alleged attack on a consulting chef of the establishment.

According to reports, following a minor kitchen fire - an incident the victim claims he was neither present for nor responsible for - Lindinger allegedly assaulted the chef, grabbing him by the hair and slamming him to the ground. The incident, which occurred on July 27, resulted in the chef sustaining serious injuries, including a punctured lung and fractured ribs, after hitting a step during the fall. The victim has asked not to be identified in this article.
Following the purported attack, Lindinger was arrested and charged with felony Assault by Means Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury (California Penal Code 245(a)(4)) and Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury (Penal Code 243(d)). She has since been released on bond and has a readiness hearing scheduled for August 19.
