Founded by husband-and-wife duo Truc Nguyen and ThuHang Le, Crab City made its San Diego debut in late 2021 in Barrio Logan within the Mercado del Barrio mixed-use plaza. Known for their culinary ventures, including Pho Bo restaurants in Barrio Logan and National City, the couple has built a reputation for crafting authentic and comforting flavors that resonate with the community. With this new location taking over the space formerly occupied by Olive & Basil on Girard Avenue, Crab City is poised to expand its reach and introduce La Jolla residents to the communal joys of Cajun seafood boils.
Crab City's menu centers around the classic seafood boil experience, a dining tradition that transforms a meal into a lively, hands-on feast. Guests can expect a variety of fresh seafood, including crawfish, King crab, shrimp, and clams, served in customizable spice blends ranging from mild to fiery.
Seafood boils are served in signature platters, encouraging diners to don bibs and dig in with their hands, creating an interactive and social dining atmosphere. Beyond the boils, the menu also features a variety of appetizers like fried calamari and hush puppies, creamy clam chowder, fresh oysters, and indulgent garlic noodles. To satisfy sweet cravings, Crab City offers desserts such as cheesecake. Adding to the experience is a centrally located bar, which will serve a curated selection of beer, wine and low-ABV cocktails to complement the bold Cajun flavors.
Crab City’s La Jolla location is set to open in early 2025 at 8008 Girard Avenue, Suite 220. For more information, visit crabcitybar.com.
