JJang Korean BBQ To Bring Authentic Korean Barbecue To La Mesa In 2025

La Mesa is set to welcome a new addition to its dining scene next year with the opening of JJang Korean BBQ, set to unveil in 2025 in the former IHOP building in the Rancho San Diego Village shopping center

Founded by Karam Solaiman and Ehab Kako, JJang Korean BBQ promises to deliver a traditional Korean barbecue experience, offering a wide range of marinated meats, fresh sides, and other delicious options. While the area features a few other Asian eateries, such as Golden Bay Asian Food and Tappi Sushi & Grill, JJang will stand out as the only Korean barbecue restaurant in La Mesa. Additionally, its spacious, layout within the 3,860 square-foot former IHOP will make it one of the largest dining establishments in the center, creating an inviting space for gatherings and communal meals.
JJang Korean BBQ will offer a lengthy menu of meats including bulgogi beef, galbi short ribs, pork belly, chicken, and beef tongue, that will be cooked over a gas grill built into the table. These flavorful cuts are paired with a variety of traditional side dishes, known as banchan, which often include kimchi, pickled radishes, steamed eggs, and other Korean staples. The restaurant will also serve a menu of beer, wine and sake drinks.

JJang Korean BBQ is expected to open by spring 2025 at 3637 Avocado Boulevard in San Diego's East County city of La Mesa.
