San Diego's North County is about to welcome a fresh new hangout for sports fans and comfort food lovers alike. The Brew Inn, a revamped sports bar concept, is preparing to open this summer, replacing the recently shuttered 1910 Tap House in Oceanside.
This new venture is the latest project from local culinary entrepreneur Russell Bruhn, who is teaming up with his son Tyler Bruhn to bring the concept to life. The space is currently undergoing a full interior refresh, and the father-son duo plans to maintain its sports bar vibe while introducing a menu that reinvents classic bar fare. Among the featured items is a nostalgic favorite that Bruhn feels is overdue for a comeback: the humble Sloppy Joe. As the name suggest, the bar will also have a strong devotion to beer.
Russell Bruhn is no stranger to San Diego’s food scene. As the founder of Carlsbad Gourmet and Strawberry Shack, he's earned a strong following for his strawberry desserts and signature sauces, many of which have been produced in collaboration with big local names like Stone Brewing, Pizza Port, and AleSmith. Now, he’s channeling that experience into The Brew Inn, a place designed to offer comfort food with a creative twist in a relaxed, community-driven atmosphere.
The Brew Inn is expected to open by the end of July 2025 at 1910 Oceanside Boulevard, Suite F, in San Diego's North County city of Oceanside.
