Longtime Gaslamp Quarter Nightclub Oxford Social Club At Pendry Hotel San Diego To Close This August

After more than seven years of defining upscale nightlife and hosting countless celebrities in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, Oxford Social Club at the Pendry Hotel is preparing to close its doors for good.

Since opening with a grand unveiling party on January 28, 2017, Oxford Social Club quickly became a central figure in San Diego’s nightlife scene. Created by Clique Hospitality in collaboration with the Las Vegas-based 81/82 Group, the club was designed as a boutique nightlife destination focused on high-touch hospitality, curated entertainment, and a stylish, intimate atmosphere. The final night of operation is set for Saturday, August 16, 2025, marking the end of an era for one of the city’s most high-profile and celebrity-frequented nightclubs.

Oxford’s 418-capacity space inside the Pendry was hailed for its conceptual lighting, refined mixology, and ever-evolving DJ programming. It soon developed a reputation as the city’s "see-and-be-seen" hotspot, drawing an impressive list of VIP guests and headlining acts. Over the years, Oxford welcomed celebrities including LeBron James, Jack Harlow, Idris Elba, and Reggie Bush, while hosting high-energy performances from artists like Snoop Dogg, Post Malone, Ne-Yo, Tyga, Flo-Rida, and Jeezy.
When it launched, Oxford promised a return to nightlife fundamentals - placing the focus on ambiance, cocktails, and meaningful social connection. Clique Hospitality partner Andy Masi said at the time, "Oxford Social Club will put the focus back on the experience as a whole and really emphasize the things that made bars, lounges and nightclubs great in the first place: the environment, the drinks, the people, the conversations."

Oxford's closure marks a significant shift for the Pendry San Diego, which also houses other hospitality ventures including Lionfish, Provisional Kitchen, The Pool House, and Nason’s Beer Hall. It is not yet known what will replace Oxford Social Club in the Pendry’s basement-level space. For now, San Diego partygoers have until August 16 to experience one last night at the iconic venue.

Oxford Social Club is located at 435 Fifth Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp. For more information, visit  theoxfordsd.com.
