With more than a decade of industry experience, Fowler brings a multifaceted background to the venture. His career has included roles at ChuckAlek Independent Brewers, Stone Brewing, and most notably as the longtime Head of Education and Craft Hospitality at White Labs. He also holds certifications as a Cicerone and sommelier, and has taught at both San Diego State University and UC San Diego's brewing programs.
Good Pressure Brewing will take over a 3,500-square-foot space previously occupied by Poochie's Hooch Urban Cidery. The site includes a built-in taproom and two outdoor patios, aiming to create a welcoming neighborhood destination for hikers, families, and beer lovers alike. The brewery's name reflects both a brewing principle and a life philosophy: pressure as a force that shapes and refines.
The concept emphasizes a light-filled, relaxed environment with a clean, natural design. Beer offerings will focus on drinkability and flavor without pretension, avoiding overly complex or niche selections. Fowler and his team plan to produce around 750 barrels in the first year, with most of it served onsite and through hyper-local distribution to nearby bars and restaurants.
In addition to beer, the brewery is also equipped for cider and wine production. While the facility already includes a fermentation cellar, the Fowlers are still selecting and installing the main brewhouse and are actively seeking a head brewer to join the team. With the opening of Good Pressure Brewing, the Fowlers aim to create more than just a place to grab a pint - they envision a true community hub, a go-to gathering spot for celebrations, fundraisers, and everyday connection.
Good Pressure Brewing will be located at 7559 Mission Gorge Road in San Diego’s Allied Gardens neighborhood. For more information, visit goodpressurebrewing.com.
