You may have been to a food truck gathering before, but likely not one of this magnitude! This Saturday, July 28th, over fifty SoCal food trucks and more than 60 craft beers will come together at the picturesque Del Mar Racetrack for the 2nd Annual Gourmet Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival.
Bring your appetite to the Del Mar Racetrack on Saturday, July 28, 2012, as from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. you can join Meals-on-Wheels at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club to enjoy some of the tastiest food-on-wheels at over 50 gourmet food trucks from the San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles areas. Serving their eclectic best at super prices (most items $4-$8), the food trucks donate to Meals-on-Wheels Greater San Diego to support the independence and well-being of San Diego seniors. Thirsty? Catch over 50 frosty craft brews on tap in the beer garden to pair with your delicious eats.
Get there early and stop by the Meals-on-Wheels booth to visit with top San Diego chefs including Chef Brian Malarkey of Gingham, Burlap and Searsucker (to name a few), Chef Michael Jacobs of Proud Mary’s Southern Bar and Grill, Chef Julie Weiss of The Wild Thyme Catering Company and Chef Andrew Sasloe of The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant who will all vote for their favorite food trucks. Admission to the food truck event is free with paid racetrack admission of $6 for adults. Children under 18 are free.
