After seven years maintaining a reputation as Bird Rock’s go-to spot for locals and visitors alike, Beaumont’s Eatery is elevating its image with a wave of fresh changes. The restaurant not only welcomes Chef George Morris and an array of new menu additions, but will also embark upon an interior redesign project to be completed November 1st. While each alteration is meant to enhance the restaurant’s overall atmosphere, owners Dave and Megan Heine are passionate about upholding the tried-and-true energy that has earned Beaumont’s loyal following and revered reputation for the past seven years.

In conjunction with introducing the fresh talent of Chef George Morris to the Beaumont’s kitchen, the restaurant has expanded its already popular cuisine with a variety of new flavors and ingredients. Since joining the Beaumont’s team this summer, Chef Morris has introduced several items to the menu. Starters and Tastings that have had customers oo-ing and ah-ing include the Butter Lettuce & Blueberry Salad, served with spicy pecans, gorgonzola and a blueberry lemon verbena vinaigrette, Local Mussels, prepared with roasted chilies, garlic, scallions, cream, and PBR beer and the instant favorite, Twelve Hour Pork Spare Ribs, served with a house made tamarind BBQ sauce, young ginger, Thai basil and scallions.

Inventive Entrees include the 3 Way Jidori Chicken, featuring a pan roasted breast, chicken fried leg and smoked wing, served with goat cheese smashed potatoes, Blue Lake beans, bacon and gastrique, as well as Cashew Crusted Local Bass, presented with Blue Lake beans, shitake mushrooms, red curry and coconut broth.

On par with bringing Beaumont’s menu to the next level, the restaurant will be premiering a fresh look this fall. “We were the first to use reclaimed wood back in 2005 and we plan to bring the same innovation to this redesign,” says owner Megan Heine. Beaumont’s plans to use a color scheme sporting slate gray, yellow and teal, new wall designs featuring eclectic art, and “found” inspired décor. One of the highlights of the redesign will be a long communal table in the bar area, where people can mix and mingle while enjoying a variety of menu items designed for sharing. The communal table will also be home to special weekly farm-to-table dinner experiences following the debut of the new layout. The interior refurbishing is expected to be complete by November 1, 2012.

Beaumont’s Eatery came to Bird Rock in 2005, when the area was burdened with struggling businesses, frequent building foreclosures and a lost sense of community. Since opening, Beaumont’s continues to breathe new life into the community, enhancing the growth and improvement of local businesses and portraying Bird Rock as a vibrant and diverse neighborhood once again.

Owners Megan and David Heine, of Brockton Villa Restaurant in La Jolla, share a deep passion for preserving the surrounding community and anchoring the life of Bird Rock in this hidden gem. Beaumont’s is a central meeting spot for locals to gather for contemporary, approachable food, hand-made cocktails, and top-rate entertainment in a casual atmosphere.
