San Diego's Favorite Celebrity Chef Brian Malarkey Launches First Cookbook - COME EARLY, STAY LATE

September 27, 2012

Celebrity Chef Brian Malarkey, Executive Chef and Partner of Enlightened Hospitality Group, which manages and operates Searsucker, Herringbone, Burlap, Gingham, Gabardine and soon to open Searsucker Scottsdale, is launching his first cookbook titled Come Early, Stay Late.  Brian, most notable for his playful twists on classic recipes, invites readers along his personal journey of discovery, building confidence and the elegance of simplicity all while emphasizing that his food is and always has been about taste and bringing good people together.

Enthusiasts can now learn how to cook up some of Chef Malarkey's most popular dishes featured at each restaurant, delectable treats from Executive Pastry Chef Rachel King as well as how to craft popular cocktails from Pick & Rocks such as the infamous Peter Rabbit.  Broken into sections by restaurant, each chapter features insider tips and tricks from the head Chef of the restaurant and showcases hand-chosen recipes of their hottest dishes.  Complete with beautiful photos, a list of ingredients and step-by-step recipes, budding chefs can now learn how to replicate their favorite Burlap "Asian Cowboy" dish or how to successfully mesh land and sea together as experienced at Herringbone.

Happily admitting that, "This is how I cook. I'm the unapologetic Tong Chef - nearly everything I cook can be done with a pair of tongs", Come Early, Stay Late features a variety of easy-to-do recipes perfectly laid out for a cook of any level to prepare and enjoy.  And in true Malarkey style, Come Early, Stay Late is a slight twist on your traditional cookbook featuring an inside peek into the motivation behind each restaurant concept and how that is transferred over to the style and preparation of the food served.  Nevertheless, perhaps most admirable is Brian's passion and drive to continue to grow as a Chef which is both evident and inspiring throughout the book.

Come Early, Stay Late is set to be published just in time for Thanksgiving in late November and will be sold at all major bookstores.  Brian will also be holding book signings and readings at various bookstores and at his restaurants so stay tuned for these exciting announcements and dates to come.
