September 28, 2012

Watch as the streets of Historic Old Town San Diego transform into an art extravaganza at this year’s Old Town San Diego Art Festival. On Saturday, October 6, 2012 and Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the Old Town Chamber of Commerce invites you to experience a world full of colorful art, live music, international food and exotic wines. Stroll down San Diego Avenue as the streets will be filled with a variety of artists, food, wine, and entertainment. The festival features an array of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, furniture, and has something for everyone.

For the first time this year, there will be a Young Artist area that will feature a children's art competition! In addition to this judged youth competition, this interactive children’s area will give kids the opportunity to participate in a variety of craft workshops and activities. Local artists will also be on hand to instruct your kids on how to colorfully express their artistic sides and explore the beauty of the arts. In the spirit of celebrating the progression of the automobile, an awesome display of horseless carriages and classic cars like the Thunderbird, will be on display along the streets of historic Old Town.

In between enjoying all the art festivities you can pleasure your palates to an array of incredible flavors from over a dozen local restaurants and delicious food vendors. Perks include a craft beer and wine tasting pavilion too! After lunch, if you feel like dancing or just relaxing, a myriad of jazzy musicians will take over the streets with earthy rhythm and eclectic beats up and down the streets of Old Town.

Whether you are admiring the history and culture of this neighborhood or purchasing apiece of artwork to enjoy for years to come, The Old Town San Diego Chamber of Commerce invites you and your family to come out and enjoy this FREE art festival, so don’t miss out!
