Celebrate the Start of the San Diego Padres Baseball Season at the Free East Village Opening Day Block Party | Sunday, March 30 from 10am-7pm

For the fourth year in a row, San Diego's East Village Association celebrates the opening of baseball season as the San Diego Padres open the gates of Petco Park to host the Los Angeles Dodgers for the first game of the season on Sunday, March 30! This FREE, family-friendly, Opening Day Block Party will be the ultimate tailgating scene on J Street between 6th and 10th Avenues from 10am – 7pm.

Show your civic pride and root for your home team as San Diego kicks off the party with live entertainment from local bands and DJ’s, a thirst-quenching, micro-brew, beer garden between 8th Avenue and 9th Avenue featuring East Village craft breweries, Mission Brewery, Monkey Paw and Stone Brewing Co.; a great food selection from delicious local restaurants and fantastic food trucks between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue; and even a country block between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue brought to you by Bub’s, Blind Burro and Moonshine Flats.  Into line dancing? Head down at 1:30pm to line dance on J St.

You won’t miss out on the game plays. as The Mighty 1090 will be broadcasting LIVE from the Block Party, with plenty of interactive games and much more!  Although this game is SOLD OUT, you haven’t struck out yet!  East Village Association is selling a limited number of ticket packages for the Opening Day Game.  This hard to come by package includes two tickets to the home opener against the LA Dodgers, with seats behind the Padres Dugout AND four drink tickets to the East Village Opening Day Block Party beer garden.  This home run package is going for $250 and is available for purchase online at eastvillagesandiego.com/east-village-opening-day-block-party-strike-out-ticket-package.

The East Village Opening Day Block Party is a way to showcase San Diego’s largest urban community to San Diegans and visitors. Proceeds from the event support the East Village Association’s mission to support and promote East Village businesses by establishing the community as San Diego’s Livable Urban Village. This year, the EVA is raising funds for a community landmark sign.
