The Second Annual VinDiego Wine and Food Festival Returns | April 4 & 5

March 25, 2014

VinDiego Wine and Food Festival returns for its second year as a true wine connoisseur’s delight, bringing people together to celebrate a shared passion for great wine and mouth-watering food. The event will be held at Liberty Station in Point Loma on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5, featuring a seminar, a rare and reserve wine tasting, and culminating with a Grand Tasting event where guests will enjoy over 75 of California’s award winning wineries, with more than 300 selections of wine to choose from. VinDiego's Grand Tasting will also showcase some of San Diego's most exceptional and notable restaurants under one roof, offering samples to please every palate.

On Friday, Apr. 4, there will be a seminar entitled, Pinot All Stars from California to the Willamette Valley, where 80 attendees will learn to differentiate between the styles of award winning Pinot Noir’s that are considered to be some of the best wines in the world and discover why these top rated wines have developed such a following. There will also be a special event, The Special Sunset Rare and Reserve Tasting, taking place at the Liberty Station Courtyard Marriott Grand Ballroom where winemakers will dust off rare and reserve-level bottles for a sold out crowd.

On Saturday, Apr. 5 from 4-7pm, don't miss the VinDiego Grand Tasting, which includes wine tastes and bites from San Diego restaurants, including Marina Kitchen, RA Sushi, Jakes Del Mar, barleymash, Kitchen 1540 and more! A silent wine auction will feature collectible fine wines, big bottle private tasting parties, vacation packages, VIP winery tours, and other wine related items perfect for the wine and food enthusiast.

All proceeds from the silent auction will go directly to Freedom Station, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Freedom Station helps severely wounded young Marines and Sailors that have been medically discharged transition from military life back to the tough new challenges that they face in civilian life. Offering these brave young warriors temporary lodging facilities as well as education and career guidance, Freedom Station is an integral part of their life changing transition.
