Green Flash Co-Founder, Lisa Hinkley, is celebrating 4-years breast cancer free and she and the entire Green Flash organization are thrilled to celebrate at the 4th annual Treasure Chest Fest on Saturday, September 6, from noon to 6pm. This is the brewery's largest and most anticipated rare beer event of the year and serves as a fundraiser for local breast cancer charity Susan G. Komen for the Cure San Diego. A celebration of craft beer and local culinary talent, this event provides attendees the opportunity to sample from an exceptional lineup of rare, barrel aged and one-of-a-kind cask beers, as well as a hand-selected lineup of local chefs and artisan food purveyors that offer an array of perfect small plate pairings to complement each beer. This year’s Treasure Chest Fest features several significant new additions to make it an exceptional celebration of craft beer, local fare, and fun-filled festival experiences. Green Flash will host the party inside the brewery, tasting room and beer garden in Mira Mesa, allowing attendees a behind-the-scenes chance to sample from an exceptional lineup of their rare, specialty, cask and barrel aged beers while they wander through the entire expanse of the brewery. Green Flash has also hand-selected some of their favorite local restaurants to develop (and donate) perfect food pairings that have been crafted for each beer. The event also marks the exciting national debut of the Treasure Chest 2014 barrel aged beer release - A Barrel Aged Saison With Plum!

In addition to all those amazing brews, enjoy perfect pairings from 10 local restaurants including Carnitas Snack Shack, The Bellows, Waypoint Public, URGE Gastropub, Brothers Provisions, The Grill at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, Alchemy, Viva Pops (offering a special Treasure Chest Fest Pop made W/ Green Flash Beer), Salt & Cleaver, Craft & Commerce and more. Brewmaster, Chuck Silva and the crew will be on site to chat about the beers being poured at each station as well as the pairings developed for the occasion.

To provide entertainment for the crowd, Pin Up Gals will be outfitted, styled and sourced by local designer, Fables by Barrie, creating the perfect photo opp in the brewery! Also enjoy the (un) photo-booth experience with some great pictures donated by Smile. Pop. Party.

Green Flash has also enlisted local craft purveyors to join the event and each will host an educational 30 minute demo throughout the day, to touch on the art of their culinary specialties.  Beer pairings will be included – and demos are slated as follows:

·        Artisan Cheese w/ Venissimo
·        Charcuterie w/ The MeatMen
·        Oyster Shucking w/ Ironside
·        Explore Cask Beers with Fruit w/ Green Flash Brewers

These Demos will take place throughout the day of the event, with space for 50 guests per session (first-come basis). 

Green Flash is hand-selecting some of the best in local San Diego craft vendors to join the party this year! Fest goers can shop at the Treasures Chest marketplace while they enjoy fest food and drink.  By participating, all vendors will donate to Komen for the Cure San Diego.

Tickets to Green Flash's Treasure Chest Fest 2014 are available in advance or at the door with many options so everyone can enjoy the fest! General admission advanced-purchase passes are $40 per person, available online and include access to all festival fun, 10 beer and food pairing tasters, and a commemorative glass. General Admission with round trip transport is $60, available online and includes access to 2 shuttles with pick up points in North Park & Encinitas. Designated driver ticket are $20. General admission will be $50 at the door on the day of the event. The brewery is only open for ticket holders 21 and over, and parking will be available at the brewery, as well as on Flanders Drive and along Top Gun Street.
