True Food Kitchen has partnered with nonprofit organization No Kid Hungry, to help end childhood hunger. Now through August 31, $1 from each Kids Menu item ordered will benefit the organization’s campaign to connect kids in need with nutritious food, and teach families how to prepare meals that are both affordable and healthy.
“It’s wonderful that kids will be helping kids with this effort,” said Sam Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts. “Raising awareness and educating families about childhood hunger is crucial for organizations like No Kid Hungry to be successful, and we encourage the community to come together this summer and support their efforts to end childhood hunger.”
When families dine at True Food Kitchen, they will directly give back to this important and well- aligned cause, with each item purchased from the Kids Menu. Parents Magazine recently recognized the True Food Kitchen Kids Menu for their innovative and playful Almond Butter, Apple and Banana Sandwich, which was voted among the publication’s list of the“20 Best Kids-Menu Dishes.” This is just one example of the way Executive Chef Arik Markus creates nutrient-rich spins on classic kid-friendly meals. Other Kids Menu items include a Turkey Sloppy Joe with all-natural turkey, and a Grilled Chicken Quesadilla with peas, broccoli, carrots and brown rice, among many other fun and healthy dishes.
No Kid Hungry makes sure that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and have healthy meals in the summer, and that their families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. Since the campaign’s launch, No Kid Hungry and its partners have connected kids struggling with hunger with 345 million additional meals.
