Kitchen 4140 And Duck Foot Brewing Team Up For “Wheatless” - A Six Course Gluten Free Dining Event On August 27

Six courses of farm-to-table fare will highlight beers from one of San Diego’s newest craft breweries at this one-night-only gluten free dining experience. San Diego’s farm-to-table restaurant Kitchen 4140 and gluten free brewery Duck Foot Brewing Company will join together on Thursday, August 27 to debut one of the city’s first completely gluten free prix fixe dinners, “Wheatless.”

Priced at $79 per person and taking place around a rustic communal table in Kitchen 4140’s private wine room, Wheatless will begin at 6pm with a social hour featuring craft beer pours and mixing and mingling with like-minded enthusiasts. Guests will take a seat between 7 and 9pm for a six course dinner thoughtfully created by Kitchen 4140’s talented Chef Kurt Metzger.

"While Kitchen 4140 frequently hosts special events, we are particularly excited at the opportunity to partner with Duck Foot Brewing and create this event for San Diego’s gluten free community," said Metzger. "Everyone should be able to enjoy quality, local food no matter their dietary needs."

The evening’s menu will include Seared Day Boat Scallops, Charred Corn, Pea Puree, Candied Bacon paired with California Blonde Ale; Grilled Summer Peach, Mache, Spiced Pistachio, Grapefruit paired with West Coast IPA; Apple Cured Salmon Crudo, Fresno Chiles, Heirloom Tomato, Micro Cilantro paired with Double White IPA;  Garlic Lime and Ginger Shrimp, Thai Chiles, Keffir Leaves paired with California Honey Ale; Dry Aged Ribeye, Chorizo, Olive Oil, Rosemary, Forest Mushrooms, Micro Oak Leaves paired with Belgian Strong Ale; and Olive Oil Cake, Candied Kumquats, Avocado Basil Gelato, Lime Honey paired with Kumquat Honey Ale

"After opening earlier this year and receiving so much support from the community for our efforts in producing gluten free beer, we knew it would be a great idea to partner with a local restaurant for this special gluten free dinner that will highlight the flavors of our beers through food, and vice versa," said Matt DelVechio, co-founder of Duck Foot Brewing.
