Normal Heights’ street food-inspired neighborhood sandwich-centric spot, Burnside, recently had a chef shuffle and Chef Ronnie Sees is now heading up the kitchen. Coming to Burnside from Tiger! Tiger!, Chef Ronnie has put his own twist on the menu, paying homage to his Filipino heritage and introducing menu items like Lumpia, an Atsu-Age Platter, Dos Tacos de Res and turons, all of which align with Burnside’s street food-inspired origins.

Since its debut earlier this year, the newest addition to the Sycamore Group has established itself as a neighborhood eatery located on Adams Avenue in the heart of Normal Heights, serving up a menu of worldly fare, plus craft beer and wine. The full Burnside menu is also available two doors down at the award-winning cocktail lounge Sycamore Den.

Burnside’s newly introduced fare incorporates unique twists on a number of classic dishes from different cultures, including white cheddar stuffed falafels, Bahn Mi fries and Grandma’s Lumpia, which comes with a side of citrus-chili and soy-honey mustard sauces. Classic Burnside favorites, including the Cubano, Banh Mi accompanied with Pho Realz dipping broth, The Fried Hen and Togarashi fries remain on the menu. As part of the menu update, a new beer program has also been introduced, and Burnside now offers a variety of canned/bottled beers in addition to six rotating taps of craft beer.

Burnside is located at 3375 Adams Avenue in Normal Heights. For more information, visit burnsidesd.com.
