The first craft beer festival of 2016 will take over Point Loma's Liberty Station on Saturday, January 16 for a day devoted to San Diego's top industry. The San Diego Brew Festival Winter Edition will unite craft beer lovers from near and far at NTC Plaza to sample unlimited offerings from 70 local and international breweries. There will also be a dozen of the top San Diego food trucks in attendance, entertaining lawn games to play, and live bands rocking out throughout the day. America's Finest City is the craft beer capital of the United States, so what better way to celebrate the start of a new year than with unlimited beer tastings? In addition to giving you all the juicy details on the event, we're also offering promo code SDVILLE for $5 savings per pass for the first 100 tickets purchased, as well as a chance to win 2 VIP tickets!
We attended the last four installments of the San Diego Brew Fest and have consistently had a grand ole time gallivanting about the lawn, sipping beers from newly birthed breweries and veterans alike, so much so that we generally can be seen mid-afternoon embracing a blissful beer nap under the sun on the sprawling lawn of NTC Promenade. Organized by Drink Eat Play, this event features tons of breweries pouring countless varieties of beer. In year's past, lines have been short and offerings plentiful, allowing participants to sample many, many types of beer, and even cider.
Many of San Diego's world class breweries are participating in this year's Brew Fest as well as many others from all over the world, including Firestone Walker, Oceanside Ale Works, Lagunitas, Helm's, Thorn St., Ninkasi, Ironfire, Samuel Adams, Culture, Drake's, Thirty-Two North, URBN St., Shiner Bock, Goose Island, Big Sky Brewing Co., Bell's, Mission, Anderson Valley, Belching Beaver, Mike Hess, Bolt, Magic Hat, Sierra Nevada, Singha, Duck Foot, Elysian, White Labs, Rough Draft, Insurgente and many, many more. Admission includes unlimited beer samples (while supplies last), with food sold separately. A variety of local food trucks will be on hand to complement the beer, including Two For The Road, Devilicious, New York On Rye, Criscito Pizza, Currywurst Truck San Diego, Hana Hou To Go, Famoso, Doggos Gus, Epic Eatz, and Marcel Waffle.
General admission tickets are $40 (1-4pm) and VIP tickets are available for $50 (noon-4pm). Both types of admission include unlimited beer tastings, with VIP admission offering an additional hour to imbibe. Promo code SDVILLE saves $5 per ticket on the first 100 passes purchased, so don't wait! Tickets can be purchased online, and if still available, at the entrance on the day of the event (additional costs may apply). Get them fast because this event will certainly sell out. A portion of the San Diego Brew Fest’s proceeds benefit Noah’s Bark Pet Rescue, an all volunteer nonprofit whose aim is to rescue dogs from shelters and find permanent homes for rescued pets. Proceeds from the event will go towards funding food, shelter and veterinary bills for rescued pets.
Liberty Station can be tricky to navigate, so put 2640 Cushing Road into your GPS and look for the giant American flag. You can NOT bring pets and you must have ID with you. Everyone must be 21 or over, including designated drivers, which also means no infants/babies/kids. Parking is free and located just West of the venue at Roosevelt and Cushing.
