Summer has arrived in the city of endless summers! This year, San Diego will be more packed with visitors than ever, as in addition to being an epic 4th of July destination, the site of a gigantic Pride Festival, and home of the original Comic-Con International convention, this year America's Finest City welcomes the MLB All-Star Game for the first time in more than three decades. We have rounded up a list of more than 50 fun & delicious events taking place around San Diego this July, so read on, mark your calendars, make your reservations, get your tickets, and have an incredible summer!

July 1, Lafayette Hotel 70th Anniversary Party - 70 is the new 21! The Lafayette Hotel, Swim Club & Bungalows will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a free-to-attend party open to the public on Friday, July 1, from 6 to 10pm, offering party-goers 3 venues of themed celebrations within the historic North Park hotel, as well as the chance to submit items into a time capsule that will be opened in 30 years. The 70th Anniversary party is a free event welcome to guests of all ages and retro 40s, 50s & 60s attire is encouraged.

July 2, Lumpia Eating Challenge at The Local Pacific Beach - How fast can you eat 50 hand rolled lumpia and chug a pint of Dos Equis lager beer? Enter The Local PB's contest for a chance to win awesome prizes and get a cool t-shirt too! They are accepting 32 contestants who must sign up online. July 2, OB Pier 50th Anniversary Celebration - Celebrate the Ocean Beach Pier’s 50th Anniversary with this free-to-attend event. The iconic pier opened on July 2, 1966. To mark this special occasion, take a stroll on the beautiful pier and enjoy the incredible views, as well as special activities from 10am-4pm all over the pier.

July 3, Noble Ale Works Brunch at Toronado - Toronado's monthly beer brunch is known to be legendary, and this time, Nate & Co. are inviting the crew from Noble Ale Works for the latest in their ongoing series of Sunday brunches. Noble has quickly established themselves as one of the top breweries in the OC/LA area, and they're currently expanding their brewhouse to keep up with demand for their lineup of kick-ass IPA's and cult favorites like their golden nitro milk stout with coffee Naughty Sauce. Working with Chef Jose Duran next door at Casa Guadalajara, Claudia will treat guests to tastings of her favorite recipes from the new book as they enjoy the sights and sounds of the colorful courtyard. This event is free and open to the public.

July 8-10, Great American Foodie Festival - The Great American Foodie Fest returns to San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium this July 8-10, featuring more than 50 of the nation’s top food trucks and food vendors highlighted by a number of celebrity trucks from The Food Network, Cooking Channel & Travel Channel. Entry to the event is $10 for the whole weekend if purchased in advance online and food is purchased separately once inside.

July 8-12, MLB All-Star Week - Major League Baseball is bringing its mid-summer classic to Petco Park in 2016. This is the first time that the MLB All-Star Game has been in San Diego since 1992. Events range from a 5k, to a giant yoga instructional, to a parade and, of course, the Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game.

July 9-10, 63rd Annual Over The Line Tournament - One of the biggest bat-and-ball sports tournaments known to man returns to Fiesta Island for a weekend of debauchery. By far the locale's most notorious activity, the annual "OMBAC World Championship Over The Line Tournament", organized by Old Mission Beach Athletic Club, is a prominent event in San Diego's beach sports life. Over The Line is a public event and requires no ticket or entrance fee to watch.

July 9, Westgate Hotel’s French Riviera Soirée & Swim Club - The Westgate Hotel kicks off summer with the French Riviera Soiree & Swim Club. Locals and visitors alike will be welcomed to the hotel’s rooftop and dive in to the chic sophistication that is summertime in the South of France. Guests will enjoy an upscale swim club ambiance with the refreshing pool, modern chaise lounges and VIP cabanas. July 9, San Diego Cheese & Beer Festival - The Cheese and Beer Festival is a celebration of everything cheese and craft beer and will be one of the last events at Silo in Makers Quarters. At this event, guest will be treated to unlimited samples of craft beer from 15 different local and regional breweries, as well as complimentary mac n cheese, grilled cheese, fondues, imported cheeses, cheese soups, and more from participating restaurants. July 9, Modern Times 3rd Anniversary Party - The Point Loma-based brewery is celebrating its 3 year anniversary at the Fermentorium with a kick-ass party complete with a face-melting tap lineup of rare, brand new, and archive beers, plus delicious coffees and tasty food. This is going to be one hell of a party. Each ticket is good for admission to one session, ten 4oz. tasters, unlimited coffee, and a keeper glass. Tickets are $40.

July 9, Sweet Petite Confections “Life’s a Beach” Chocolate Class - Artisan chocolate shop Sweet Petite Confections in Bay Park will celebrate the second installment in its trio of summertime chocolate-making classes. With July being prime time for hitting the sand, July’s class will focus on flavors reminiscent of hot summer days and the salty ocean. Participants will make bonbons and chocolate barks using ingredients like house-made lemon-mint ganache and candied lemon peel (as homage to summer lemonade), Hawaiian sea salt, salted caramels and more. July 10, Street Fighter Brunch at The Safehouse -  Head to North Park for The Safehouse's first charity brunch. The theme is Street Fighter, and The Safehouse will be serving up three Street Fighter themed brunch courses with bottomless mimosas before beginning the Street Fighter tournament where the winner will take home cash prize! July 11, Yelp & Big Brothers Big Sisters Partner for "Message in a Bottle" at Harbor Town Pub - With the intent of bringing together the Yelp community, Yelp San Diego will be planting two of its Elite Yelpers, Nette B. and Maria C., behind the bar at Harbor Town as guest bartenders to serve drinks with 100% of the tips going directly to the non-profit Big Brothers, Big Sisters Of San Diego. July 12, New England Lobster & Clambake at Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill - Inspired by their Massachusetts roots, Bluewater Boathouse in Coronado is celebrating summer with its annual New England Lobster Clambake, featuring steamed Maine lobster, Manila clams, fresh corn on the cob, baby red potatoes, crispy coleslaw, drawn butter - and a signature lobster bib, of course. July 15-17, San Diego Pride Festival - San Diego's LGBTQ Pride Festival is filled with events. With so many things to do at Pride in addition to the actual festival, organizers created this list of the top 25 (+1) things to do during the weekend celebration of love & happiness. July 15, Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Opening Day - More than 40,000 race fans are expected to attend what's defined as one of the most fabulous, fashionable and fun festivities in the west - Opening Day at Del Mar. July 16, Villains Brew Fest - Villain Fest is a free community event based out of Barrio Logan, located at Mercado Del Barrio. July 21-24, Comic-Con International - Founded in 1970 by a group of San Diegans, Comic-Con International has become the largest pop-culture convention in the world - a four-day event (Thursday–Sunday) held at the San Diego Convention Center with many corresponding events held all over the city. July 26, Bitter Brothers Brewing Company Family Beer Dinner Pop-Up - The BayHo Brewery is opening its doors for what will surely become a family tradition - a quarterly family dinner pairing Bitter Brothers brews with worldly fare. July 30, San Diego Beer & Music Festival - The second annual San Diego Beer and Music Festival will take over Liberty Station's NTC Park in Point Loma for an evening of craft beer and live music to raise funds for local charity Promise2Kids. July 30, Unleashed by Petco Surf Dog Competition - Get stoked! It’s time for the most adorable surf event of the year. July 30, Sloshball 2016 - Sloshball is kick-ball infused with alcohol, and upon arrival everyone splits up into teams who then compete in a single elimination slosh-ball tournament.
