December 29, 2017

This weekend, San Diego's Better Buzz Coffee Roasters will unveil it's nearly 8,000 square-foot, bi-level roastery, coffee bar and eatery in Hillcrest, the 9th outpost for the company that will serve as its new headquarters.

Fresh off an opening of a beautiful new central-Pacific Beach location earlier this year, Better Buzz Coffee Roaster is ready to launch its largest endeavor to date in the two-story building previously slated for a Jinya Robata at 801 University Avenue in Hillcrest.

The popular local craft coffee roaster, who will celebrate its 10 year anniversary this year, opened its first location at 1909 Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach in 2007. The company has substantially grown over the past decade and now has locations in Point Loma, Mission Beach, Encinitas, San Marcos, a hub at Fashion Valley Mall in Mission Valley, its roasting headquarters in Vista, and two branches in Pacific Beach.

Better Buzz Coffee Roasters’ 8,000 square-foot, two-story Hillcrest location houses a vintage Probat coffee roaster from Germany for onsite roasting, which will be surrounded by a coffee bar so that patrons can witness the process unfold. There is also be a cold brew lab and event space, and in addition to a menu of coffee and espresso drinks, including drip coffee and cold brews, the new Better Buzz will offer a lineup of organic smoothies and a breakfast and lunch food menu with avocado toast, grilled sandwiches, paninis, muffins, cookies, bagels and a variety of acai bowls. There is also an outdoor patio and retail component. The second floor will serve as Better Buzz’s new headquarters.

Better Buzz Coffee will soft open in Hillcrest this weekend and is anticipated to operate under normal hours starting next week. For more information, visit betterbuzzcoffee.com.
