Preview Orange County Donut Sensation Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee At The Crack Shack Encinitas On August 26

August 7, 2018

This summer, prior to the opening of its first San Diego outpost, SoCal sweets sensation Sidecar Doughnuts will roll into The Crack Shack in Encinitas to serve a collaboration donut designed in partnership with San Diego celebrity chef Richard Blais!

On Sunday, August 26, the Sidecar Donuts Truck and Chef Richard Blais will be taking over a portion of the The Crack Shack Encinitas parking lot from 10am-2pm and serving their flavor of the month designed by Blais - a Banana Split donut consisting of banana chocolate chip cake topped with strawberry-banana glaze, chocolate sauce, salted and roasted peanuts and a dried strawberry. Since treating yourself never felt so good, a portion of the proceeds will go to Blais’ charity of choice, Traveling Stories, dedicated to empowering children to outsmart poverty by providing them with books needed to gain literacy. The Sidecar truck will also be popping up every Friday from 9am-1pm at the donut outpost's soon-to-open shop location at Del Mar Highlands.

Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee was founded in Orange County's Costa Mesa in 2012 and became an immediately hit due to its lineup of the small-batch rotating donut flavors like basil eggs benedict, Nutella chocolate chip, birthday cake and passion fruit matcha. A second location opened in Los Angeles' Santa Monica neighborhood in 2015.

The San Diego location is expected to open in the space previously occupied by Bath and Body Works in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center by this fall. At Sidecar, doughnuts are made everyday from scratch and fried in small batches throughout the day. The eatery also features signature coffee concoctions.
