Pure Project Brewing To Open Bankers Hill Tasting Room

October 16, 2016

San Diego's eco-friendly Pure Project Brewing, which first launched in Miramar in early 2016, will open a more central tasting room as part of The Park -  a new, luxury high rise being constructed adjacent to Balboa Park in Bankers Hill.

Jesse Pine and Mat Robar initially hoped to open their craft brewery in the Central America country of Costa Rica, but administrative hurdles forced them to settle on San Diego. With experienced brewmaster Winslow Sawyer on board, the team launched in a 1,625 square foot, 7-barrel brewing system space within HG Fenton's Brewery Igniter campus in Miramar in January 2016 and have become one of San Diego's leading craft beer destinations known for their delicious brews made with quality ingredients.

Next year, Pure Project will open a new tasting room as part of The Park, a 14-story, 63 condo luxury mixed-use building being developed by Zephyr Partners at Sixth Avenue and Park on the border of Bankers Hill and Hillcrest. Like the flagship Miramar location, the tasting room will be designed with reclaimed materials, fallen wood, and custom-built furniture and serve a frequently-changing tap list with beers brewed with seasonal & organic ingredients. The new tasting room will not brew any beers onsite. There is no word yet on whether there will be a food component.

Pure Project's tasting room will sit at 2865 Fifth Avenue in Bankers Hill and is expected to open in early-to-mid 2019. In the meantime, visit Pure Project at their main brewery at 9030 Kenamar Dr. #308 in Miramar. For more information, visit purebrewing.org.
