Facebook Group Eating & Drinking in San Diego, which boasts nearly 15,000 active members, is celebrating its 4 year anniversary on December 22, and to honor the milestone, more than 60 local businesses are offering specials all over the county for one day only.
When Edwin Real started inviting friends into his private Facebook Group - Eating and Drinking In San Diego - on December 22, 2014, he had no idea that within four year's time, the group would go on to be one of the most active in town, amassing over 14,400 members, made up entirely of San Diego residents. In it short tenure, it's become a go-to online resource where local chefs, restaurateurs, industry insiders and foodies share photos, recommendations and openly discuss the food trends in San Diego's evolving culinary community.
For EDSD's Fourth Anniversary, more than 60 area businesses will offer specials around town for one day only - December 22. The first customer to visit every single location (you don't have to do every multiple location deal, for example - Modern Times or Le Parfait Paris), order the deal and post it all on the official EDSD Day thread (on the day of the event) will get $300 - courtesy of Edwin, Mikey Knab of Ponce's Mexican and Rob Zila of Crossroads Deli. There is also a Grand Ole Prize being offered by Grand Ole BBQ y Asado to the person that triggers the most deals on EDSD Day - a GOByA Swag Bag that includes a hat, shirt and $50 gift certificate.
Specials being offered on EDSD day include $5 Balboa Burgers all day at The Balboa, $5 Beers at Fathom Bistro Bait & Tackle all day (password "Sharknado!"), Amplified Ale Works and Amplified East Village will offer $7 doner fries, Calozzi's Cheesesteaks Pacific Beach, San Diego is offering a $25 gift card to the first 4 people who show up mentioning EDSD Day, and many more.
