WhipHand American Brasserie + Beer Bank To Grand Open In San Diego's East Village On December 14

December 10, 2018

Debuting this week in San Diego's East Village is WhipHand American Brasserie + Beer Bank, a casual-meets-fine-dining sandwich restaurant, French brasserie, and serve-your-own beer bar from the team behind Park 101, Miss B's Coconut Club, Pacific Beach Shore Club, and the incoming Louisiana Purchase.

From Grind & Prosper Hospitality, which includes Pete Cich (Park 101, Miss B's Coconut Club, Pacific Beach Shore Club) as its founding member, Whip Hand is located in the Petco Park adjacent restaurant storefront that last housed the short-lived Salvucci’s in downtown San Diego's East Village. WhipHand will be opening to the public this upcoming Friday, December 14 at 11am. The menu was created by Chef Quinnton Austin, who relocated to San Diego from Thibodaux, LA, to take the position as Grind & Prosper Culinary Director and lead the kitchen at the hospitality group's incoming New Orleans inspired bar & restaurant called Louisiana Purchase, set to open in North Park/Hillcrest in early 2019.  Day to day kitchen operations will be overseen and executed by Chef de Cuisine, Michael Rodriguez.

WhipHand will offer a casual-meets-classy vibe with a bar program centered around beer-based cocktails and a a French brasserie-inspired food menu of sandwiches, finger foods, salads, soups, and entrees. All items will be made in-house with local ingredients. The eatery will also have a self-serve beer bank with 24 taps, along with a full cocktail menu. The restaurant will have a hassle-free payment system where guests get a card linked to their credit or debit card so that they can serve themselves.

WhipHand American Brasserie + Beer Bank is located at 935 J Street in San Diego's East Village. For more information, visit whiphandsd.com and check out the preliminary menu below.
