Breakfast-Focused Flap Your Jacks To Open In San Diego's North Park

January 1, 2019

The brunchification of America's Finest City continues with the impending opening of Flap Your Jacks, a cook-your-own pancake concept with a neighboring dessert parlor anticipated to debut this summer in San Diego's North Park community.

Moving into the long-dormant, 4,200 square foot space at 3020 University Avenue in North Park, Flap Your Jacks will feature built-in griddles on every table, allowing diners to prepare their own customizable pancake varieties. Consulting chef Sergio Howland is also working on an eclectic menu of egg dishes, French toasts, and other breakfast items. There will be a full bar with day-drinking-inspired cocktails, beer, and plenty of champagne.

Flap Your Jacks is owned by Ilan & Marcos Wornovitzky, who partnered with 20-year industry and hospitality vet Raul Esses of Mexico City. The team also took over the adjacent discount cigarette store and will be installing a 950 square foot, yet-to-be-named dessert bakery.
