The Morning After Launches In San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter

January 2, 2019

Now open in the Gaslamp space that last housed the extremely short-lived Off The Strip Bar & Bistro is The Morning After, a breakfast, brunch and bar concept from the team behind FSix Nightclub.

"The Morning After answers the call for a fun and social breakfast, brunch and lunch spot in the Gaslamp Quarter after a late night out, as well as to feed breakfast and bar food cravings from happy hour to late night," said Jamie Johnson, owner of The Morning After and proprietor of Elevating Nightlife Hospitality, which also owns FSix.

The 4,132-square-foot bistro and bar serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and bar selections. Breakfast and brunch highlights include Fruity Pebbles pancakes topped with mascarpone buttercream, Cinnamon Toast Crunch brioche toast with Grand Marnier icing, red velvet waffle topped with cream cheese icing and toasted pecans, bacon-wrapped asparagus with an over easy egg and balsamic drizzle, and shrimp and grits with pancetta herb gravy. Food and cocktail flights will be offered during brunch and will include French toast, waffles and pancakes, as well as mimosa, margarita and bloody mary flights.

The Morning After will transition to a sports bar in the evening, becoming part of the energetic and vibrant downtown nightlife scene. The evening menu will feature an array of bar bites including several flavors of buffalo wings, sliders, mac ‘n cheese, loaded french fries and a buttermilk chicken and waffle plate, among other selections.

The Morning After will accommodate up to 154 guests between the bar and dining room. The restaurant will be open from 7am to 3pm Sunday through Thursday and from 7am to close Friday and Saturday, The Morning After will be open for breakfast and brunch-style dishes and drinks. Starting at 5pm on Friday and Saturday, The Morning After will serve elevated bar fare and late-night eats.

The Morning After is located at 531 F Street in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. For more information, visit
