Louisianna Purchase Grand Opens In North Park On March 14

March 6, 2019

Unveiling next week in San Diego's North Park community is Louisiana Purchase, a New Orleans-themed restaurant and cocktail bar from the team behind Park 101 in Carlsbad, Miss B's Coconut Club in Mission Beach and WhipHand American Brasserie in the East Village.

Installed on the ground floor of designer Jeff Svitak's The Louisiana residential building on the corner of Louisiana and University in a quiet area of North Park, Louisiana Purchase is the newest concept from San Diego-based Grind & Prosper Hospitality group, which includes Pete Cich (Park 101, Miss B's Coconut Club, Pacific Beach Shore Club) as its founding member. Lousiana Purchase offers a heavily wooded design with an open-air flow and industrial feel, as well as plenty of plant life accents draped around the expansive space.

The scratch-made menu at Lousiana Purchase was created by Chef Quinnton "Q" Austin, who relocated to San Diego from Thibodaux, LA, to take the position as Grind & Prosper's Culinary Director. Chef Q previously led the kitchen at the highly-rated Cinclare Rustic Southern Cuisine in Louisiana for two years, and before that was the chef de cuisine at the world-renowned Antoine's in New Orleans. Expect a long list of modern and classic southern comfort foods like jambalaya, muffuletta and po'boy sandwiches, gumbo, crawfish, fried chicken, barbecue shrimp, beignets and Creole-influenced entrees and appetizers. From the bar, there will be a lineup of boozy drinks ranging in style from the sophisticated Sazerac to the boozy Hurricane, as well as a bunch of taps devoted to craft beer and a curated wine list.

Louisiana Purchase is located at 2305 University Avenue in North Park and will open at 4pm on Thursday, March 14. For more information, visit LouisianaPurchaseSD.com.
