The Team Behind Bankers Hill's Mia Trattoria Launches Roma Mia In San Diego's Gaslamp

May 7, 2019

Now open in the downtown space that last housed Italia Mia in San Diego's Gaslamp is Roma Mia, an Italian bar & restaurant from the owners of Mia Trattoria in Bankers Hill.

Owned by Rome-native Sergio Torrisi, Roma Mia gets its name from the owner's infant daughter. Torrisi and his father own two restaurants in the Rome region of Italy, and the San Diego transplant has worked at numerous big-name spots, including the James Beard Award-winning Bartolotta at Wynn Las Vegas, Hyatt Indian Wells and The Belvedere at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. Torrisi opened his first stateside restaurant, Mia Trattoria in San Diego's Bankers Hill community, in December 2017.

Roma Mia is now serving a lunch and dinner menu that features Italian specialties including salads, traditional pastas, and seafood and meat entrees. The eatery also has a full bar with cocktails, area beers, and a list of Italian and Californian wine varietals.

Roma Mia is currently open at 825 4th Avenue in downtown San Diego, operating Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11am-3pm with dinner service from 5-10pm, as well as 11am-11pm on Fridays & Saturdays, and 11am-10pm on Sundays.  For more information and to make reservations, visit romamiasd.com, call 619.844.0220, and be check out the menu below.
