Valley Farm Market Opens In La Jolla With Full Grocery & BBQ-Focused Eatery

A year in the making, Spring Valley's more than 60-year-old Valley Farm Market has opened a 5,000 square-foot outpost in La Jolla within a brand new mixed-use complex near Windansea beach.

Established in the San Diego East County community of Spring Valley in 1956 by Felix and Eleanor Marso, Valley Farm Market has been operated by the founders' four children over the years and is now managed by grandson, Derek Marso. In addition to a commitment to sourcing only the finest food items, Valley Farms has come to be known for hosting frequent community events and supporting area charities and youth sports teams.

The new Valley Farms La Jolla location sits at the corner of La Jolla Boulevard & Nautilus Street and houses an onsite butcher shop, fish market, grocery, and barbecue-focused eatery. There are prime cuts of organic meat and sustainable seafood for purchase, as well as a large array of organic produce and a full market with specialty items and basic necessities. Soon the store will also sell a variety of craft beer and wine. From the prepared foods section, expect to see plenty of barbecue, including the company's famous brisket, tri-tip, pork shoulder, rotisserie chicken and side dishes. There is also a full menu of made to order items with sandwiches and other items tuna poke nachos, a California burrito and Imperial Valley carne asada fries.
