Zero Gelato Touches Down In San Diego's Normal Heights

November 12, 2019

Zero Gelato has opened in San Diego's Normal Heights neighborhood, offering a whole host of Italian-inspired gelato creations made with organic ingredients including gelato pops, sandwiches, flights and shakes.

Inspired by their numerous gelato-fueled travels around Italy, Ofelia & Eduardo Gonzalez chose to immerse themselves in the craft of gelato making and eventually decided to open a new kind of Gelateria in their home town of San Diego.

"We got inspired while traveling in Italy many times and enjoying the craft of Gelato," explained Zero Gelato co-founder Ofelia Gonzalez. "We always wanted a small business and after a couple of years of studying the craft we decided on gelato. We think that interacting with patrons over dessert is great! We both took gelato making specialty courses and we work with an Italian chef and mentor in order to provide superb quality gelato."

Zero Gelato uses organic ingredients to make 12 flavors of gelato available from an Ifi Panorama gelato display. The location will offer gelato flights, gelato cookie sandwich, gelato shakes, and gelato pops with dippings and toppings, as well as affogato, which is an espresso shot with scoop of gelato. The menu will also include superfoods lattes, which are caffeine free drinks made with 100% organic, beetroot, maca, ginger, and other healthy ingredients. At Zero Gelato, their gelato is prepared fresh almost everyday onsite at their location.

Zero Gelato is located at 3331 Adams Avenue in San Diego's Normal Heights. For more information, visit zerogelato.com.
