February 12, 2020

A founding member of the team behind Old Town's Tahona is in the process of opening Hidden Craft, a 30-tap self-serve beer bar and restaurant unveiling later this year in downtown San Diego.

Hidden Craft is spearheaded by craft beer enthusiast Amar Harrag, a native of France and graduate of the University of San Diego who co-owns numerous locations of Matisse Bistro in San Diego and Irvine, Tahona Bar and neighboring Oculto 477 speakeasy in Old Town, and runs real estate brokerage Allied Green Realty. In addition to founding the San Diego chapter of Corazon de Vida, Harrag sits on the board of directors for Create Purpose, and both non-profits aid orphaned and abandoned children in Mexico.

Hidden Craft is currently installing in the space that last housed a location of Harrag's Matisse Bistro and St. Tropez Bakery before that within One American Plaza in downtown San Diego's financial district. The concept aims to be a hub where professionals and residents can connect around food and the best of local craft beers. Hidden Craft will have a wall of beer fame that features over 30 self-serve beer taps with "beer experts" on hand to guide patrons to their perfect brew and teach them how to properly pour. , as well as a food menu. There will also be a food menu with a wide range of global inspiration, available for lunch, brunch and dinner. The space will offer an outdoor private patio with frequent live music nights, trivia and other events. On top of supporting local micro-breweries, Hidden Craft will be an advocate for change and is committed to supporting local 501(c)(3) charity the San Diego Rescue Mission, who provides rehabilitation programs to members of the homeless community.

Hidden Craft is expected to open as early as this spring at 600 W Broadway, Suite 130, in downtown
