San Diego's Historic Hotel Del Coronado To Reopen Next Week

June 19, 2020

After closing this past March for the first time in its 132-year tenure, San Diego's historic Hotel del Coronado will reopen next week.

Hotel Del Coronado has announced it will reopen to the public at a reduced capacity starting on June 26, exactly three months after the hotel shuttered due to COVID-19. Some parts of the resort will remain closed, including the pool which is not slated to return until at least July 19. The fitness center and spa will also stay closed for the foreseeable future. Some onsite restaurants, including Serẽa, are also expected to open next week. Room service will not be available.

"The overwhelming support from our community has kept us strong during these unprecedented times and it gives us great pleasure to announce our reopening this summer, coinciding with the introduction of new amenities and guest rooms," wrote Hotel Del Coronado General Manager Harold Rapoza Jr.

The Del has introduced new safety precautions in light of the continued pandemic, including requiring guests and employees to wear face coverings in public areas. The hotel will also be providing guests with complimentary sand chairs, umbrellas, a daily $25 dining credit, and discounted self-parking because the pool remains closed.

Hotel Del Coronado is located at 1500 Orange Avenue in San Diego's Coronado. For more information about Hotel Del Coronado, visit hoteldel.com.
