South Bay's popular Novo Brazil Brewing has taken over the Ocean Beach space last occupied by Culture Brewing and will open a hard kombucha-centric tasting room.
Novo Brazil is an award-winning brewery founded by Tiago Carneiro and Joel Tubao in 2015. In 2018, it was named the eighth-fastest growing brewery in the United States by the Breweries Association. Last year, Novo Brazil launched a 12,000 square-foot gastropub in the Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista. Novo Brazil has two locations in San Diego's South County neighborhood of Otay Ranch and is in the process of opening a bar within the incoming Market On 8th food hall coming soon to National City.
Novo Brazil is in the process of building a new tasting room within the retail unit that previously Culture Brewing Company in Ocean Beach. It is anticipated the company's northerly most branch will be primarily focused on building the footprint of hard kombucha sister concept Nova Easy Kombucha, but there will also be beer on tap available for onsite consumption and take-out.
