Harumama Offshoot To Open In San Diego's North County

July 29, 2020

An offshoot eatery from Instagram-sensation Harumama Noodles & Buns is set to open in San Diego's North County this summer

Husband and wife restaurateurs James & Jenny Pyo have founded such area eateries as Love Boat Sushi in San Marcos and Oceanside, Harumama restaurants in Little Italy & Carlsbad, Blue Ocean Robata & Sushi Bar in Carlsbad, Blue Smoke Sushi in Fashion Valley Mall, and two Pokewan locations. Last year, they opened their most ambitious project yet, a combination concept Harumama Noodles & Buns and Blue Ocean Robata & Sushi in the 5,000 square foot space perched above La Jolla Shores that last previously housed The Hake.

The next concept will be an offshoot of the couple's popular steamed character bun eatery. Harumama Teriyaki & Bao will open as early as August 5 in the heart of Carlsbad Village. The menu will feature sizzling stir fry and saucy curry dishes served in cast iron skillets. There will be several different options of meat, vegetables, rice, noodles, and sauces that can be "cooked your way" on the hot skillet, making for an unique DIY dining experience. The eatery will also offer steamed Asian bao buns with new character designs and fillings, as well as a menu of beer and wine.

Harumama Teriyaki & Bao is located at 711 Grand Avenue, Suite A, in Carlsbad. For more information, visit teriyakiandbao.com.
