San Diego's Cohn Restaurant Group Announces Permanently Closure of Bo-Beau & Tacos Libertad In Hillcrest

November 17, 2020

San Diego's Cohn Restaurant Group has announced the permanently closure of its Bo-Beau Kitchen + Caché concept and for-charity Tacos Libertad in Hillcrest.

In 2017, San Diego's prolific Cohn Restaurant Group revamped its former 100 Wines space in Hillcrest into the 4th incarnation of its French-bisto BO-beau concept. BO-beau Kitchen + Caché was a dual concept - one part French-inspired bistro, BO-beau Kitchen, with a hidden speakeasy-like craft cocktail bar, Caché, which was accessible through a secret freezer door. Nextdoor, Cohn Restaurants also opened Tacos Libertad, a 100% for-charity casual modern taco eatery with a menu centered around a custom wood-fired grill. Today, the company announced Bo-Beau Kitchen + Caché in Hillcrest and Tacos Libertad Tacos are both permanently closed. Other area Bo-Beau locations remain operational.

BO-beau Kitchen + Caché and Tacos Libertad mark the second and third restaurant closed by Cohn Restaurant Group this year. In January, the group shuttered its Little Italy Latin American eatery Indigo Grill after more than two decades in business. On the bright side, the San Diego-based restaurant company is in the process of reopening Con Pane Rustic Breads & Cafe in Liberty Station and also submitted plans to the city to install an upscale, dine-in Ferris wheel within Balboa Park

Over the past 40 years, David and Lesley Cohn and their family have brought dining to a new level as the premier hospitality collective in San Diego. Beginning with one small diner in 1981, Cohn Restaurant Group now owns and operates more than 20 restaurants with locations in San Diego, Long Beach and Maui.
