San Diego's Urban Mo's Restaurant & Bar Now Requires Proof Of Vaccine To Enter

July 31, 2021

San Diego's Urban Mo's restaurant and bar now requires prospective customers to show proof of COVID-19 vaccine prior to indoor access to the property.

As coronavirus positive cases continue to surge around San Diego and the rest of the country, businesses are beginning to restrict property access to those who have been fully vaccinated. It was announced this week that esteemed restaurateur Danny Meyer’s New York City-based Union Square Hospitality Group - which owns Gramercy Tavern, Manhatta, Union Square Cafe and Shake Shack - will require indoor diners to prove they’ve been vaccinated against Covid. It is also anticipated that New York City will soon announce a citywide mandate requiring customers show such proof to enter any restaurant.

Urban Mo's, which bills itself as "The Best Gay Bar In The World", may be the first establishment in San Diego to announce a proof of vaccine requirement. The Hillcrest hotspot has announced that beginning today, customers are asked to provide proof of vaccination in the form of the CDC vaccine card in hand or on the phone to attend any and all indoor shows and events. There is no telling how many other businesses will follow suit. MO's Universe Group, which owns Urban Mo's, Gossip Grill, Baja Betty's, InsideOut, Hillcrest Brewing, and the new Barrel & Board and Salad To-Go-Go, has not implemented a similar requirement at any of its other properties.

Urban Mo's is located at 308 University Avenue in San Diego's Hillcrest community. For more information, visit urbanmos.com
