Pali Wine Company will open its second San Diego tasting room & restaurant in the space that last housed Oscar Wilde's Irish Pub in Hillcrest.
A producer of premium, appellation-specific and vineyard-designate wines from California and Oregon, Pali Wine was created in Santa Monica, CA, in 2005. The company now has six tasting room locations, including a two-story outpost in San Diego's Little Italy that opened in fall 2016. Pali focuses on premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay sourced primarily from the company's own Santa Rita Hills and Sonoma vineyards.
Pali Wine Company recently leased the 2,000 square foot restaurant space with a 2,000 square foot patio previously occupied by Oscar Wilde's Irish Pub on University Avenue in Hillcrest. Pali is expected to open by year's end and will offer an elevated wine tasting experience, serving a variety of vino, charcuterie, and a comprehensive menu from Executive chef Travis Clifford. Like the Little Italy branch, the Hillcrest location will also sell Pali Wines for customers to bring home.
"We are excited for the restaurant’s new space to open in such a phenomenal location, complete with rare onsite parking, extremely large patio space, and impeccable visibility from University Avenue," explained Mike Spilky of Location Matters, a real estate firm that represented the landlord and the tenant in their new lease.
Pali Wine Company is expected to open by this fall at 1440 University Avenue in San Diego's Hillcrest community. For more information, visit paliwineco.com.
