Chilaquiles Champs Cocina 35 To Open New Restaurant In San Diego's Liberty Station

March 19, 2022

Known for having some of the best chilaquiles in town, Cocina 35 will soon bring its Mexican brunch options to San Diego's Liberty Station, taking over the space previously occupied by Soda & Swine.

Cocina 35 was founded in Otay Mesa in 2012 by owner Paulina Chaidez, who brought her family recipes of made-from-scratch Mexican breakfast specialties served cafeteria-style to San Diego's South County. In 2015, the second Cocina 35 opened in the Cortez Hill neighborhood of San Diego's downtown.

The third Cocina 35 will open later this year in the 4,700 square-foot space that last housed a branch of Consortium Holdings' now-defunct Soda & Swine concept, which shuttered at the start of the pandemic and never reopened. Like other outposts of Cocina 35, expect a menu of "Comida Corrida" build your own brunch plate with a variety of chilaquiles options and toppings, as well as egg scrambles, Cajeta toasts, pancakes, tortas, burritos, tacos, and more. The new location may extend hours beyond breakfast and will also have a full bar with cocktails, beer and wine.

Cocina 35 hopes to open by late summer at 2750 Dewey Road, Suite #104, within Liberty Station in San Diego's Point Loma. For more information, visit cocina35.com.
