Casa Octavio To Bring Agave-Fueled Bar & Restaurant To San Diego's East Village

May 4, 2022

From the team behind North County's Octavio Tequila company, Casa Octavio is an agave-fueled bar and restaurant opening later this spring in San Diego's East Village.

In 2019, father and son Bob & Cole Mueller were so inspired while vacationing in the small Mexico town of Los Barilles in Baja California that they decided to start their very own tequila company. They eventually launched Octavio, a small batch tequila brand based out of San Diego's Solana Beach community that bottles tequila imported directly from Tequila, Mexico.

The Muellers have teamed up with former Patron's Corner co-owner to Katya Mansurova to open Casa Octavio, a Mexican bar and restaurant unveiling soon in the 2,000 square-foot space that last housed Whiphand near Petco Park in San Diego's East Village. Expect an upscale restaurant design with a curated menu of hard-to-find tequila and mezcal bottles, craft cocktails, and a seasonal menu of regional Mexican shareable plates and entree dishes.

Casa Octavio is expected to open by month's end at 935 J Street in East Village San Diego. For more information, visit octaviotequila.com.
