Now open in San Diego's Little Italy is Shibuya Nights, a "Tokyo Drift" inspired speakeasy with a menu of Asian-fusion dishes and creative cocktails.
In late 2017, Tajima owner/chef Isamu "Sam" Morikizono along with partners Cesar Vallin (Prospect Bar, The Rooftop La Jolla) and Seitaro Takahashi - who operates 30 restaurants in Japan - opened the upscale Japanese bar & restaurant Cloak & Petal in the heart of Little Italy. They recently repurposed a back room of their 7,500 square-foot establishment to become a neon-filled speakeasy dubbed Shibuya Nights.Inspired by the electric culture of Tokyo's trendy Harajuku neighborhood, Shibuya Nights offers a limited food and drink menu distinct from sister-concept Cloak & Petal. Expect a variety of Asian-fusion small plates including short rib rolled tacos and chicken karaage & waffles, to be paired with inventive cocktails. The space is decked out with neon lights and cherry blossom installations over the bar, as well as murals on the walls.
Shibuya Nights is now open at 1953 India Street in San Diego's Little Italy neighborhood. For more information, visit shibuyanights.com.
