Founded by pop icon Nick Jonas and contemporary menswear designer John Varvatos, Villa One Tequila will open a rooftop bar & restaurant in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter on September 21.
In summer 2019, platinum-selling musician and Jonas Brothers founder Nick Jonas teamed up with famed clothing designer John Varvatos to launch Villa One Tequila in partnership with spirits brand Stoli Group. Labeled as an "ultra-premium tequila brand", Villa One comes in Silver, Reposado and Añejo that is made at Fabrica de Tequilas Finos distillery in Jalisco, Mexico, with production led by Master Distiller Arturo Fuentes.

Earlier this year it was announced that Villa One Tequila partnered with Sugar Factory founder Charissa Davidovici to open a new, Tulum-inspired rooftop bar and restaurant atop the Theatre Box building in downtown San Diego. Opening on September 21, expect a design featuring luxurious textiles, shades of green inspired by agave fields and accent walls with neon signs. Dubbed Villa One Tequila Garden, the new concept replaces 5th & Sky Rooftop Lounge. Villa One Tequila Garden will offer a 5,000 square-foot rooftop lounge with skyline views of downtown San Diego and the Coronado Bridge, as well as an open-air bar with firepit tables and patio-style seating. The bar menu will feature over 160 varieties of mezcal and tequila, as well as tequila flights and tableside cocktails.
Villa One Tequila Garden will have a Mexican food menu created by Jorge Cueva, known as Mr. Tempo, who owns and operates King and Queen Cantina in San Diego's Little Italy and recently opened Mr. Tempo bar & restaurant on the base floor of the Theatre Box. Dishes will be designed for sharing, and include items like tostadas, fresh seafood cocktails and tacos, burritos and enchiladas, among other entrées. Signature dishes include green and red aguachiles, Mr. Tempo’s signature “JAPA-MEX” sushi rolls infused with Mexican flavors, a 64-ounce USDA Tomahawk steak, birria, crispy shrimp, Ensenada-style fish, salmon and soyrizo tacos, and wet burritos filled with choice of carne asada, pork belly, chicken, birria, vegetables or soyrizo.
The San Diego location of Villa One Tequila Garden marks the first location of the ambitious bar & restaurant concept. Following the opening in downtown San Diego, Villa One Tequila Gardens has plans to soon expand throughout the United States with openings in Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas and New York City in the upcoming year.
